Description
Instagram Sometimes gratitude begins with something simple: opening the blinds and letting the sunlight in. Even when life brings trouble, it does not take away every blessing. The rose still finds a way to grow through the cracks of concrete. The bee still carries life from one flower to another. Breath remains. Love remains. Possibility remains. “Everywhere I Look” is a song of thankfulness to the Creator—for life, family, creativity, the mind, and the providence quietly surrounding us. Shukran ya Rabuna. 🙏🏾 #EverywhereILook #ShukranYaRabuna #NubianBeats #Gratitude #Thankfulness #AfricanMusic #AfroSoul #SouthSudan #NewMusic
The story behind the song
This song came to me after I opened the blinds and let the sunlight fill the room. I started thinking about the rose that grows through the cracks of concrete, the bee carrying pollen so other plants can multiply, the family and friends who give life meaning, and the gift of having a mind capable of imagining and creating.
Lyrics
[Verse 1 – The Morning Light & Co-Creation] I opened up the blinds, let the sunlight flood the floor, Stepped away from the screens and walked out of the door. I thank the One above for the hands that shape the clay, For the breath inside my lungs and the will to carve my way. Not just a passenger walking through the dust, A partner in the rhythm, a vessel built on trust. For the sharp focus, the joy when ideas take flight, For turning heavy labor into pure morning light. [Pre-Chorus – Concrete & Providence] Even when the shadows try to stretch across the street, There’s a testimony waiting right beneath my feet. A rose breaks concrete just to look upon the sun, The bee serves the flower till the quiet work is done. Abundance in the cracks, mercy in the air— If you open up your eyes, you see it everywhere. [Chorus – Tongues of Gratitude] Namshukuru Mola kwa kunipatia nafasi (Swahili) Obrigado, meu Deus, por toda a graça (Portuguese / PALOP) Siyabonga Nkulunkulu, ngipha amandla (Zulu) Daalụ Chineke, onye na-eme mma (Igbo) Shukran Ya Rabuna, le kulu haja (Juba Arabic) From the rising of the sun to the evening calm, Every breath of life is a living psalm. [Verse 2 – Soul Family & Continuity] I thank You for the circle, the bloodline and the soul, The mother whose prayers kept the broken edges whole. The brothers in the fire, the sisters standing tall, The quiet roots beneath me that catch me when I fall. Trouble comes knocking, but it never takes the seed, There is always enough for the spirit and the need.
